Dendrocalamus membranaceus 'Golden striped'. This variety I found in the forest at Chiang Dao district , Chiang Mai. Since 2 years ago on the way while we surveying Dendrocalamus copelandii giant culms flowered. This is new shoots come out in this month while I hopeless I can't see beautiful culms for two years.

I fall in love when first saw him in the forest. nice boy 55...

ไผ่ซางทอง เป็นไผ่ซางป่าที่เกิดจากการกลายพันธุ์ ไผ่ซางป่าเป็นไผ่ที่มีการแปรผันทางพันธุ์กรรมเยอะมาก พบเห็นได้บ่อยในป่า ทั้งลำลาย ลำมีแถบสีเหลือง สีชมภู เป็นต้น ลายจะมากหรือน้อยแตกต่างกันไป ส่วนกอนี้ผมพบระหว่างทางตอนไปสำรวจไผ่เป๊าะยักษ์ที่เชียงดาวเมื่อต้นปี 58 เจออยู่ริมห้วย โชคดีที่เหลือบไปเห็นพอดีขณะเดินทางกลับ เป็นกอที่เกิดจากเมล็ดที่กอแม่ออกดอกตายขุยอายุกแกน่าจะสักสามปี เพราะขนาดขณะนั้นกอยังไม่ใหญ่มาก ผมรอมาสองปีกว่าจะได้เห็นลายสวยๆเหมือนตอนที่เจอครั้งแรก.
